Nick speaks out on YouGov poll

Following MP Michael Foster’s comments on the recent poll suggesting a Tory whitewash in Sussex, Lib Dem parliamentary campaigner for Hastings & Rye, Nick Perry, says,

“Michael is putting a brave face on it, but that he will lose his seat at the next General Election is almost a foregone conclusion.

“He is obviously not being complacent, because he has no room to be. This is in contrast to the Conservatives who are so convinced that they will walk back into Downing Street that they don’t feel the need to have clear and straightforward policies.

“But will people will flock to the Tory banner in Hastings & Rye? Local people know what it’s like to have a Tory Borough, District, and County Council. They know who is responsible for twin bins, parking charges and for failing secondary schools.

“People certainly want a change. But a Tory MP again? I’m not so sure.”
